I am an IT consultant with over 40 years experience. I have worked with databases and client/server solutions for over 25 years and with web applications since 2003. I have in-depth knowledge of both Oracle and MS SQL Server as well as web development using ASP.NET.
I have competence in technologies such as ASP.NET, C#, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery and CSS. I also have experience with Git/Github and Azure DevOps.
I am easy going, have good social relationships with colleagues and like to learn new skills. I work well independently and am results oriented.
I have both British and Norwegian citizenship.
Though currently retired (as of 1st July 2024) I would still consider freelance work in PowerBuilder and/or Oracle.
Responsible for the Engineering Information System / Cabling System (EIS / CabSys) application which is a legacy PowerBuilder application that requires modernisation. Responsibilities include setting up the development environment (installing the latest version of PB and upgrading the application, connecting the PB IDE to source control as well as installing source control for the database objects), investigating and documenting the application, modernising the user interface as well as investigating possible solutions for the conversion of the database from Oracle to MS SQL Server.

Originally responsible for the development of two applications for the integration of geological data (SAMBA Information Explorer (SIE) and Petroleum Register (PetReg)). Now responsible for the support and further development of these applications (1 day per week). Also responsible for the DB scripts that populate the FactWarehouse database, which forms the basis for OD's "FaktaSider" website as well as a small web application (FluOnce) that enables a "one-off" transfer of this data and a C# console application using the WixSharp framework to create msi's for SIE and PetReg.

Previously part of the team developing the SBS (Shared Business System) / Tripletex interface. Between August 2019 and August 2020 I was responsible for the Strong application, which had been purchased by Delfi. Tasks included upgrading the application so that it could be licenced to other customers, definition of standards and upgrading of the application to meet these standards, introduction of version control plus system documentation.
